Tea has been sophisticated for centuries, beginning in China and India. Nowadays, tea is the most broadly ingested beverage in the world, subsequent only to water. Hundreds of millions of individuals drink tea, and studies recommend that green tea (Camellia sinesis) in particular has a lot of health benefits.
There are three major varieties of tea -- black, green, and oolong. The distinction is in how the teas are processed. Green tea is often made from unfermented leaves & supposedly contains the utmost concentration of potent antioxidants called polyphenols. Antioxidants are matters that battle free radicals -- harmful compounds in the body that alter cells, damage DNA, & perhaps cause death of cells.
